At Scrubbers Dog Wash, we don’t simply “groom cats too”. We have a dedicated groomer that has specialized in providing cat grooming services since 2009.

Every cat has their own unique personality that requires approaches and methods specific to their needs. We don’t see cats as “ticking time bombs”. Instead, we do our very best to make the grooming experience as positive as possible for your cat. We utilize multiple tools to make your cat comfortable while in our care. Whether your cat needs a quiet environment, a warm, circulating breeze while the fur on their head and neck dries, or a tasty treat after the grooming process is complete…we can provide that with our cat grooming “bag of tricks”! All grooming services are provided to your cat’s tolerance. You will see the difference in our approach and the services we provide when your cat is alert, talkative and confident upon pickup!

We have extensive experience working with cats from kittenhood all the way to senior cats into their 20’s! Outgoing cats, shy cats, special needs cats, cranky cats and goofy cats, we appreciate them all!

We believe in the power of full grooming services, client education, and preventing the recurrence of coat and skin issues. The removal of excessive dander and trapped undercoat by bathing and hand drying is key in maintaining a healthy coat. Because of this, we do not offer a-la-carte services for cats. Each cat will receive a clarifying, deshed bath and hand dry to the tolerance of your cat. Super senior cats, cats with moderate health ailments and ones with noise aversion may receive a modified bath that doesn’t involve full water saturation of the coat.

Cat Grooming Policies

With only a handful of experienced and qualified cat grooming specialists in the Metro Detroit area, paired with the high demand for cat grooming services, we must implement the following policies in order to continue to accept new feline clients while still providing services to our existing feline clientele.

-A valid credit card must be placed on file in order to schedule appointments.

-Cats must be up to date with the rabies vaccination in order to receive services. This veterinarian verified documentation must be in the possession of Scrubbers 48 hours prior to your appointment. This documentation may be emailed to bookgrooming@scrubbersdogwash.com. If the documentation is not provided 48hrs prior to your appointment, your appointment may be canceled. If you arrive to your appointment and are unable to provide up to date proof of rabies documentation, the appointment will be canceled and will be considered a last minute cancellation.

NO SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED WITHOUT THIS DOCUMENTATION

-Cats must arrive in a secure, enclosed carrier. Cats that are on harnesses, leashes, wrapped in blankets/towels or carried in will not be accepted and will be considered a last minute cancellation. This is for the safety and comfort of your cat.

-Because we provide one-on-one services and aim to have the groom complete within 90 minutes, punctuality of arrival and pickup is imperative. We ask that you arrive to your appointment on time and pick up within 60 minutes of completion. We offer a 10 minute grace period for late arrivals. If you arrive past the grace period, your appointment will be canceled and will be considered a last minute cancellation. A text message will be sent when your pet is ready for pickup. Because we are not set up, insured or licensed for daycare services you may be charged a late pickup fee if your cat is left in our care for longer than 60 minutes of completion.

-All cancellations and reschedules must be made 48hrs prior to your appointment. If any cancellations or reschedules occur less than 48hrs from your appointment, it will be considered a last minute cancellation.

A $50 fee will be charged for last minute cancellations, no shows, and showing up without a current proof of rabies (first occurrence). In the case of further occurrences, you will be charged the full price of the services booked. If we are unable to charge the fees to the credit card on file, a balance due will be placed on your account. This balance must be paid, in full prior to scheduling future appointments.

-In the rare occurrence that your groomer refers your cat to a veterinarian for care before grooming services can be provided, you will not be charged a last minute cancellation fee. To be able to schedule a subsequent appointment, you must first provide documentation from your veterinarian that your cat has been examined and/or treated and is medically clear to receive grooming services. If this documentation is not provided, it will be considered a last minute cancellation and you will be charged the full price of the services booked.

-While our cat grooming specialists pride themselves on their ability to groom most cats without the use of sedatives, it may be in the best interest of some cats to consult their veterinarian on the use of a medication such as gabapentin to make the grooming experience less stressful. In the rare occasion that your groomer requires a sedative to be administered at home prior to your appointment and you arrive at the appointment without administering the medication, it will be considered a last minute cancellation and you will be charged the full price of the services booked.
